At the edge of Sportpark Berestein in Hilversum lies the terrain of Handboogschutterij Hilversum.
As one of the largest archery clubs in the Netherlands, we offer everyone the chance to discover the sport of archery. Whether you want to shoot recreationally, are an amateur, or a seasoned athlete, you are always welcome at our club. We take pride in our relaxed and friendly atmosphere, where members truly feel at home.
Archery is a timeless sport that connects young and old. It’s a unique activity that brings generations together. The sport requires a remarkable combination of concentration, precision, and control, making it suitable for people of various ages and backgrounds.

The combination of a spacious shooting hall, a large friendly canteen, and a vast outdoor field with a tower on one single location is something that very few other archery clubs have.

Certified trainers
We have certified trainers for all bow classes and competition disciplines. Whether you're a beginner or have been shooting for years, there is always someone available to help you improve and take that next step.
The venue
Our indoor shooting range features 12 lanes with a maximum distance of 25 meters. Thanks to movable target stands, it’s possible to shoot at different distances simultaneously. This allows both beginners and experienced archers to train side by side.
Next to the range is a spacious and comfortable clubhouse with a clear view of the lanes. From here, you can watch the action without disturbing the archers.
The clubhouse is a pleasant place to relax before or after shooting, enjoy a drink, or have a chat. The entire facility is also wheelchair accessible.
We place great importance on safety and responsible sportsmanship. That’s why our club is alcohol-free – a logical choice for a sport that demands focus and precision, and where you’re still handling potentially dangerous equipment.
Right next to the clubhouse is our outdoor range, where training continues in the open air. Targets are set up at fixed distances of 30, 50, 60, 70, and 90 meters, allowing archers to practice at standard outdoor distances. For those who enjoy variety, movable target stands and 3D targets can also be placed at any desired distance.
The outdoor range also features a shooting tower, making it possible to shoot from an elevated position. This is ideal for training with height differences, as often encountered in field or 3D competitions.
Thanks to the surrounding vegetation, the range is usually well sheltered from the wind, creating comfortable conditions for outdoor shooting.
